Overview

The Basic Rigger course is designed to provide a basic level of competence in rigging and slinging practices. This course teaches the essential basic procedures in handling different types of loads and gives practical skills in working safely with wire ropes slings and other lifting devices. The course is a combination of theoretical and practical sessions on which candidates will be required to demonstrate their knowledge and skills achieved during the training.

Objectives

At the end of the training, delegates will be able to:

  • Identify and explain regulations, standards and terminology in lifting operations.
  • Identify the roles and responsibilities of relevant personnel.
  • Identify the Rigging Hardware and its use on lifting operation.
  • Understand the types of Slings and Hitches and demonstrate its use.

Target Audience

The program is designed for all personnel who are involve in lifting operation which part of their normal duties. Candidates should hold a valid Banksman certificate before training commences.

Certification

On completion of this course successful candidates will receive an IADC Certificate Basic Rigging and Slinging.

Revalidation

There is no revalidation period for this type of training, however, refresher training is recommended for every 2 years.
