Overview
ISM Awareness Training is designed to provide candidates with knowledge on ISM Code. It explains the Intent of ISM Code, to whom it applies and history. During the course candidates will acquire information on ISM Certification process, benefits, advantages, Personnel Authority and Responsibility, Designated Person Ashore (DPA), OIM/Master’s Responsibility and Authority, Development of Plans for Drilling Unit Operations, Emergency Preparedness and Documentation.
Objectives
At the end of the training candidates will be able to:
- State the objective, purpose and intent of the ISM Code
- Have an insight into the history and relevant dates relating to the development and implementation of the Code
- Understand how the ISM Code translates into the Operations Manuals onboard the rig
- Understand the ISM certification arrangements for both Company and rigs.
Target Audience
This course is designed for Company management from the very top level, to all onshore/offshore employees
Certification
On completion of this course successful candidates will receive Certification on ISM Code Awareness Training.
Revalidation
There is no revalidation period for this type of training, however refresher training is recommended every 2 years.
